Brady Smith Storms to Lane 46 Victory at
Hartford; Set for Illinois Tripleheader!
(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith claimed his second checkered
flag of the 2010 racing season in exciting fashion on Friday
night, August 27 in his first visit to the Hartford Motor Speedway
in Hartford, Michigan! The American Late Model Series (ALMS)
sanctioned the 'Lane 46,' which boasted a $4,600 top prize plus
a myriad of lap money and bonuses. Brady won his B-Main to earn
the nineteenth starting spot in the 46-lap main event. The Solon
Springs, Wisconsin native blasted through the field, took the
lead on lap twenty-two, and went on to record the $5,700 triumph
over Curtis Roberts, Phil Ausra, J.R. Hotovy, and Curt Spalding.
On Saturday evening, August 28, the #2 team traveled south
to the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky for the annual
running of the 'Bluegrass Classic.' The Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series sanctioned the $10,000 to win program and a stellar
field of competitors were on hand. Brady qualified well, won
his stacked heat race, and later rolled off from the outside
of the second row in the A-Main. The driver known as the "Prodigy"
hung around up front throughout the 'Bluegrass Classic' and
wound up in the fifth position behind only winner Don O'Neal,
Mike Marlar, Brian Birkhofer, and Scott Bloomquist. Complete
results from both Hartford and Bardstown can be located online
at www.dirtondirt.com.
"It was a very good weekend for the Brady Smith Racing
team," quoted Brady earlier this week. "I really enjoyed
my first trip to Hartford, I guess everyone does when they win,
but I liked racing at that place. We broke a drive flange in
the heat race, but the car was extremely good in both the B-Main
and the feature. Then at Bardstown against a really strong field
of cars, we won the heat and ran up front the entire night.
Hopefully, we can keep running up front and contend for wins
when we travel to Peoria and Fairbury this weekend!"
A tripleheader in the Land of Lincoln will greet the Brady
Smith Racing team over the ultra-busy Labor Day holiday weekend.
The Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois will kick things off
tonight, September 2 with a $5,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Series
show. On Friday and Saturday, September 3-4, the action will
quickly turn to the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury,
Illinois. The 'Prairie Dirt Shootout' will pay $5,000 to the
winner on Friday night at F.A.L.S., while the historic 'Prairie
Dirt Classic' will wrap up the weekend on Saturday evening with
a $10,000 top prize. Additional information on these three events
can be located at www.peoriaspeedway.com
and www.fairburyspeedway.com.
All summer long, fans are encouraged to donate money for Brady
Smith to "Brave the Shave!" The campaign, which kicked
off at the 'Dream 100' in early June, will culminate during
the 'World 100' weekend at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg,
Ohio on September 9-11. Brady, along with twenty other drivers,
will shave their heads at Eldora to raise money for three worthy
cancer charities. You can learn more about A Head for A Cure
