Brady Smith Takes 'Lane
46' Checkers; Finishes Fifth at Bardstown!
Brady
Smith claimed his second checkered flag of the 2010 racing season
in exciting fashion on Friday night, August 27 in his first
visit to the Hartford Motor Speedway in Hartford, Michigan!
The American Late Model Series (ALMS) sanctioned the 'Lane 46,'
which boasted a $4,600 top prize plus a myriad of lap money
and bonuses. Brady won his B-Main to earn the nineteenth starting
spot in the 46-lap main event. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin
native blasted through the field, took the lead on lap twenty-two,
and went on to record the $5,700 triumph over Curtis Roberts,
Phil Ausra, J.R. Hotovy, and Curt Spalding.
On Saturday evening, August 28, the #2 team traveled south
to the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky for the annual
running of the 'Bluegrass Classic.' The Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series sanctioned the $10,000 to win program and a stellar
field of competitors were on hand. Brady qualified well, won
his stacked heat race, and later rolled off from the outside
of the second row in the A-Main. The driver known as the "Prodigy"
hung around up front throughout the 'Bluegrass Classic' and
wound up in the fifth position behind only winner Don O'Neal,
Mike Marlar, Brian Birkhofer, and Scott Bloomquist. Complete
results from both Hartford and Bardstown can be located online

The "Prodigy"
Nets Top Five Effort in Topless 100 at Batesville!
The
Brady Smith Racing team trekked to the Batesville Motor Speedway
in Locust Grove, Arkansas from August 20-22 for the 18th Annual
'Topless 100.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again
presided over the nation's premier topless event and a whopping
$40,000 top prize was up for grabs. In preliminary action on
Friday night, Brady Smith timed in tenth fastest in his group
during qualifying and later finished second in his stacked heat
race to earn the outside sixth row starting spot in the 'Topless
100.'
After consolation races were completed on Saturday evening,
Mother Nature invaded the area and rain pushed back the 100-lapper
until Sunday afternoon. Tire management and pit strategy were
the keys to the race, as each driver was forced to pit at least
once during the 'Topless 100' for fresh rubber. Brady utilized
a fast racecar and sound pit strategy to vault himself up to
the fifth position to finish only behind winner Jared Landers,
Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson, Jr., and Terry Phillips in the SPEED
Channel taped event. Complete results from the wild day race
can be found online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Brady Smith Thirteenth
in Annual 'North/South 100'
Brady
Smith and his #2 Dirt Late Model team invaded the venerable
Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on August 13-14 for the

a hefty $50,000 payday. Seventy-one competitors converged on
the Cincinnati area venue and Brady kicked off the weekend by
laying down the ninth fastest lap in Group A during qualifying
on Friday night.
When the action resumed on Saturday evening, Brady grabbed
the third and final transfer spot out of his loaded heat race,
which locked him into the seventeenth starting spot in the 100-lap
main event. During the course of the 'North/South 100,' which
was held in front of an overflow crowd, the Solon Springs, Wisconsin
native advanced four positions en route to a thirteenth place
performance. Full results from Florence can be found online

Smith's Week in Wisconsin
Highlighted by Runner-Up Shawano Effort!
The
Brady Smith Racing team enjoyed a huge stretch of racing in
their home state of Wisconsin from August 4-7. The action kicked
off on Wednesday at the Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin,
as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned a $10,000
to win event. Brady Smith timed in eleventh fastest in WOOLMS
qualifying and later won his competitive heat race. After drawing
the pole position prior to the 50-lap main event, Brady ran
second throughout the race and eventually wound up a strong
runner-up behind winner and polesitter Billy Moyer.
Dirt Late Model competition then turned to the legendary Cedar
Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday for the annual 'USA Nationals' weekend. In Thursday's
$5,000 to win tune-up program, Brady qualified eleventh quickest
and later ran second in heat race action. The Solon Springs,
Wisconsin native started from the outside of the fourth row
in the 40-lap unsanctioned race and slipped back to an eleventh
place finish.
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series invaded Cedar Lake over
the weekend to sanction the 23rd Annual 'USA Nationals,' which
boasted a hefty $50,000 top prize. Brady's weekend got off to
a rough start, as he hit the wall during qualifying on Friday
and later wound up seventh in his stacked heat race. When Saturday
rolled around, the "Prodigy" had high hopes of advancing
into the 100-lap main event through his B-Main, but another
bout with the wall early in the consolation race ended his night
prematurely. Complete results from all three programs can be
located online at www.worldofoutlaws.com
